About all of this....
Short Version:
Once again, and forever, we are exposing another wrongful conviction of an innocent man, in prison, for a murder committed by James Yankton, Jr. and his accomplices.
Longer version follows:
Let's You & Him Fight
Who Benefits When We Fight Among Ourselves? The same people who have benefited from society in disruption since time began: The ruling class, the Lords of the land, the Oligarchs . .
Who loses? We do. Our focus becomes defending or attacking people who had no part in creating the dysfunction, the poverty, the imbalance, but who, like us, want to fix it, want fairness.
True equality comes with fairness. We can't pursue fairness if we are fighting against each other, and the super wealthy know this. That's why they bought up and consolidated 95% of all media: Books, magazines, newspapers, TV networks, Cable networks, Radio, movies, you name it, chances are one of 6 corporations owns it.
They want to control the economy to where we have nothing, they have everything, and they don't want us looking too closely at who they are nor what they are doing.
They are Multi-Billionaires, and they also get billions in tax breaks and grants and loans from the government. They make sure that the elected do not or cannot raise the minimum wage, because that would dent their billions.
It might even make their business model not function. The minimum wage goes decades without an increase. When it does get an increase, it's pennies. The Cost of Living (CoL) increases every month, every year. Those struggling to pay rent start cutting out luxuries like food, medicine, clothing, shoes, dental, medical. And they are blamed for being poor.
States are making laws that literally criminalize the poverty created by the people who benefit the most from the tax breaks creating it and who generously donate to campaigns to elect people who will keep this system intact, in place and enforced.
Corporate profits skyrocket. They raise the price of goods and services at will, and then scream "INFLATION!" if it's a Dem in office and they want to get rid of them. Or, if a Republican is in office, ignore it altogether, even as the CoL skyrockets. (Those who own the media direct our focus).
Those mega tax breaks that Bush (W) and Trump handed out? We all got hundred bucks, but their friends in high places, many of them members of congress, got millions. We were grateful, they wanted more. They're still getting more. We aren't.
* Random: Trickle Down is more commonly known as piss on you . The notion that giving the wealthiest among us more and more will eventually spill over into our pockets, was a lie from the start. We've been pissed on.
They've been at this for generations. They want you to think that this country was founded on Christianity. Defy them and you defy God. They use God like a cattle prod to herd the masses into fighting against our own best interests and worse — into defending them and their interests.
The USA, all of the Americas in fact, were explored as potential resources, wealth, to be exploited by (wait for it) the wealthy classes, the kings, emperors, and various assortment of royalty.
The USA was founded as a colony, to exploit the fur trade, mainly, and later to take other resources (Minerals, timber, agriculture), and it was the wealthy classes that came over on those wooden boats. The poor could not afford the luxury of leaving their slums.
One of the benefits they had here was that they could practice their religions, yes, plural, because there were different forms of Christianity and Catholicism in the Pilgrims.
The kings didn't care because the wealth was rolling in by the boatload.
The Revolutionary War changed all that. The wealth stayed with the colonists. That really pissed off the Kings, dukes and other royals.
Where was all this wealth coming from? The lands that were inhabited by Indigenous peoples. From what could be traded or stolen.
Most of it was stolen. It's a system that is still in place to this day. Today it's oil, gas, gold, silver, timber, water. First Nations are being robbed of billions, but we laugh when they go on the "warpath" by protesting.
There are hundreds of "cliches" that racially demean First Nations, especially if they are standing up for their people.
Back in the day, the lands were abundant with agriculture. Agriculture was organized into plantations.
It wasn't poor people owning and running plantations,it was the wealthy class. They needed cheap (Free)labor, so they kidnapped people from African nations and enslaved them, using brutality, cruelty, neglect, abuse, rape.
IT WAS PROFITABLE. (Sound "Christian" yet?)
One of the ways they controlled the slaves was to keep them ignorant, uneducated.
It was against the law to teach a slave to read, because if they could read, they could organize, they could make demands, they could become free. Then who would work the fields?
You see the current administration attacking the Department of Education in order to dismantle public education. They want to make generations of uneducated, reactionary, low wage communities. It's easier to deny us our rights if we don't know what they are or why we have them.
(Media refers to the damage being done as "Bold" or "different" or even "Novel". They don't even indicate that it is damaging or dangerous. We're being walked into the plantation like we're watching a show, with ads, and news readers who give us glib chit chat.
Oh how I wish y'all had been around and aware of how it was back in the day when we had real journalists, real reporters, and the 'news' was there to inform us, not sell us more beer, online gambling, or prepper supplements.
Wealth in this country was basically built on stolen lands, with stolen labor from people stolen from their native lands.
It has been summarized that the treaties held because the Indians were men of their word and the White Man could play on that.
Indigenous people were herded onto reservations that were little more than concentration camps. The buffalo were slaughtered to make Indians poor and dependent. Residential Schools were created to separate generations, prevent culture from being handed down, and to keep Indian People from reclaiming their lands.
The disruption between generations, the destruction of families, enforced by laws, soldiers, police, was designed to keep disruption and poverty a constant. It still works. Anyone steps up to defy that system are crushed by every level of the system: The government enforces the corruption and abuse. The resources continue to flow away from First nations people and into the coffers of the billionaires, and we do nothing. We can do nothing, except fight among ourselves.
NOTE: Hitler said he got the idea of concentration camps from the way the US Government mistreated Indigenous Peoples, and got away with it because the White People, especially the poor who outnumbered the wealthy exponentially, were made to believe that they were 'savages'and less than human, and they were out to hurt the White Man, TAKE THEIR WOMEN! All the while the army was out massacring entire villages, and giving themselves medals and ribbons for it. Racism works like a charm.
Keeping people ignorant and/or uniformed is a key means of controlling them. People hunger for information, explanations, and when the monopolistic media gives them an explanation, or disinformation, it's hard to question it or to know the true facts.
Note: Another way to make sure people stay ignorant is to make them proud of being ignorant. Sarah Palin made ignorance, batshit stupidity, fashionable. Media covered her as if she wasn't a complete fraud. Why? Because they aren't journalists, they aren't doing journalism, they are gaining 'access'. You gain access by playing nice, not by telling the truth.
We are being driven into ignorance now by book banning, book burnings, and teachers not allowed to teach history except for the acceptable versions of it.
History is where we did things that were both right and wrong. Not knowing the facts of history means we cannot learn from either the right things, or from the mistakes. It denies us the ability to understand how we got where we are today and how to make any of it better.
Random: A friend once told me that stupidity was "Like waking up in a brand new world every day." There was nothing learned. Nothing retained.
Random: The Good Guys were never the ones who banned books, burned books, disallowed facts or history.
One of the Plantation systems key controlling tactics was to elevate a compliant slave into a position over the other slaves. If he could control them, he was allowed to use force, brutality, rape, murder, just like his White Masters.
He had better food, lodgings, and all he had to do was hurt his own people to please the wealthy White Masters. (D'Jango y'all).
Today's system is very much the same: In order to keep First Nations People oppressed, the Federal Government elevates a few within the community, gives them money, control of finances, and the power to dominate the lives of everyone around them.
Very few use that for the good of the people. Most do not. Most are chosen strictly for their brutality.
Billions of dollars go into the reservations every year for housing, medical, education, agriculture... enough so that every man woman and child on every reservation should be living in Air Conditioned luxury homes ... but they aren't. A select few live extremely well.
The mythology surrounding this is the racist notion that Indians are dumb, alcoholics, violent, 'savages' who don't care about themselves or their family. Nothing can be further from the truth, yet that is the image that persists.
It is reinforced by media that, for the most part, refuses to look into the causes, the facts of every situation involving a 1st Nations person as either Victim or Perpetrator. Reservations are remote, out of sight, out of mind, for a reason. What we know about them is what we are told.
We weren't taught the truth, so we don't know the truth. We don't know the truth, so we can't question the lies.
Politically, we pick teams. Some teams have leaders who work to make the system better for everyone: Medicare, ACA (Obamacare - which as you remember, Republicans voted against and tried to overturn more than 80x, and promise to take it away if they get their majority back . . . replacing it with nothing), repairing infrastructure, those roads and bridges are falling apart because of tax breaks for the billionaires over the past 50 years.
. . . And the other team that tells you to hate, fear, attack immigrants, Muslims, LBGTQ people, and claim Drag Queens hurt children (the facts are that Drag Queens are artists, entertainers (like clowns), and it is the clergy that have raped our children for hundreds of years. Children are in more danger of sexual assault from clergy than from Drag Queens.
But, it is so much easier to blame, attack and misdirect our anger, if we are given a target, right? That's the whole: "Let's you and him fight!"tactic, and it works because we are mad, we are tired and we are misled about how we got here.
Immigrants have provided the fresh blood that powers our economy. They are paying taxes into our system, and getting almost nothing out of it. WE benefit from that. They perform agriculture work that no one else can or will ... except for prison slave labor, which is also part of the system, and it is abusive, and people die from it.
Prisons are like concentration camps: People know it's there, but no one really knows what goes on behind those walls. No one looks. If we knew, we'd be responsible for not doing anything to stop the abuses. Best to not know. Ignorance will protect us. Right?
So, when the party that told us COVID was just a bad cold, while bodies literally piled up in refrigerator trucks because the morgues were overloaded, told us to inject bleach, to mock anyone getting a vaccine, or wearing a mask--- some were scared enough and ignorant enough to attack those who were merely trying to save their own life.
Sickness follows ignorance. Death follows ignorance. Rage drives ignorance. It's time we stopped and thought. It's time we learned and it's time we listened to those who know science and history.
Above all, it's time to stop yelling at each other. The loudest voice is not always the smartest person. The person telling you to seek retribution is playing on your anger, not your intelligence. Don't be herded like cattle.
It's time we found a way to come together. It's time to stop the violence, and start the thinking and doing the work necessary to fix what has been broken since inception. Our Constitution is a gem, but it was written by mortal men of their time, and it was designed to change and grow and improve. It has gone from only White Wealthy Landowners having Rights, to all of us having rights. We should protect our rights by protecting everyone's rights, not by taking rights away.
We are, like it or not, all in this together. We are The Human Race and it's time to accept that and work at making our communities healthier and safer. We do that by learning and understanding science, history, philosophy, and culture. The more we learn about cultures, the more we know about the world, our place in it and among other Human Beings.
So, that's the long version of "About" for this website. I know that the people who read my work are people who are capable of thinking and growing and changing when they realize something isn't working for them, or their behaviors towards others are a product of being misled and disinformed over generations.
If we are angry over what is broken, let's work to fix it without attacking people who are just like us, only looking different, from different cultures. Some cultures different from us are right in the middle of where we live. Let's get stronger, together.
Fear and anger weaken us. Intelligence works for us. Confidence comes from knowing we have already survived much worse, and we can do better because we, ALL OF US, deserve better.
When someone is steering you to fight your neighbor, just know it is not to help you, but to keep you distracted and oppressed and unable to confront their corruption.
We can do this. All of us. Together.
We must.
You know where to find me.
